Guide to Submission

Guidelines for Submission to The Maritime Issues

The Maritime Issues welcomes original ideas, analyses, and reports on sea-related affairs ranging from maritime politics, security, law, economy and resources, and environment in all oceanic regions. We encourage interdisciplinary approach, bold thinking, and innovative ideas that go beyond the confines of national policy lines and institutional identities.

The Maritime Issues is seeking:
  • Commentaries, insights, and reviews on key events and major issues, which should range between 800 and 1500 words.
  • Featured articles providing insights into historical and political background and in-depth analysis on relevant topics, with a length between 2000 and 3000 words.
  • Research-based papers and reports between 5000 and 7000 words.
Manuscript preparation:

The title page should include: (i) a full title of manuscript, (ii) a short abstract (3 to 5 lines), (iii) keywords, (iv) the authors’ names, and (v) a color figure (should be submitted as high-resolution image files and must be granted permission from the copyright holder).

The main document should not include the authors’ full names or institution anywhere in the work because this will be used for blind peer review. The main document should include:
  1. main titles for each section;
  2. body of manuscript (should be sent in Word, formatted in size 12 Times New Roman font, 1.5 spacing);
  3. references in form of hyperlinks; and footnotes in Chicago style for featured articles, papers, and reports;
  4. a short biography at the end of your work;
  5. grand and other acknowledgements.
All submitted works must be exclusive to the Maritime Issues due to possible copyright and legal restrictions.

Manuscripts should be submitted in Word file format and sent by email to maritimeissues@dav.edu.vn. If you have any questions about manuscript submission or general inquires, feel free to reach us via the above-mentioned email.
